The Madison Dilemma

The Indiana Governor’s Cup is the first H1 Unlimited race in 2010. Due to the short five-race season, it is important for Deck2Deck fantasy players to get off to a solid start.  Madison is very different from the other race sites in that the tight Bill Cantrell race course offers only four raceable lanes, while the other race sites typically have room for five or six boats abreast.

What does this mean? Instead of two sections per heat, featuring five or six boats per heat section, The Madison Regatta format will be divided into three sections per heat, with four boats per heat section.  Obviously more heat sections with fewer boats per heat will amount to higher point totals per boat than usual. But before you get too carried away and choose a mid-to-lower tier boat, remember this: Only the top four thunderboats will qualify for a front line position in the final heat, and final heat points can make or break your weekend in Deck2Deck Fantasy Hydros.

Due to the unusual race format, the tight and unpredictable race course, and the ever-changing Ohio River conditions, the Madison Regatta is one of the most difficult races for Deck2Deck players to strategize and select for on the circuit.
