NO. 1A) U-1 – Oh Boy! Oberto / Miss Madison

The Oh Boy! Oberto returns in 2015 with the U-1 insignia back on her beautiful decks. After winning the 2013 National Champion in Ted Porter’s Graham Trucking entry, pilot Jimmy Shane repeated as champion in 2014, but this time in the Beef Jerky Boat. Rumor has it this will be the last season of Oberto sponsorship for the beloved community-owned Miss Madison hydroplane (0706). Look for Shane in the Oberto to race hard and compete for victories in each and every race of the season including the season opener on her home waters of the Ohio River in Madison, Indiana.

NO. 1B) U-5 – Graham Trucking / Porter Racing
Driver: J. Michael Kelly – Puyallup, WA
Home Port: Decatur, IN
J. Michael Kelly’s return to the Porter Camp was a highly successful one in 2014 as he narrowly missed capturing the National Title by a slim 421 point margin. If not for structural hull issues in Tri-Cities where the boat was withdrawn from competition, the U-5 Red Rocket (0001) likely would have won the Title. During the six race season in 2014 Team Porter’s U-5 had four race wins and continued their dominance in Doha where the Team won their fifth UIM Word Championship. Kelly and the U-5 will be in the hunt each and every race this season.
HydroDan says: Kelly will race side by side with Shane season. Four podium finishes at a minimum with two race wins likely.
