The U-96 wins the Gold Cup in easy fashion. Dave Villwock showed ’em the short way around to win for a 2100-point perfect weekend. Many fantasy players that chose the U-1 at Madison and then the U-96 at Detroit will face a difficult choice selecting a boat for Tri-Cities in two weeks. The U-7 is probably their obvious choice, but the U-100 has shown some surprise speed at the Gold Cup. Will the U-5 get back to the front of the pack? The U-21 also looks poised for a breakout race and the U-17 keeps getting better. Things will be heating up as the boats head west. See you in Tri-Cities! Yeah, now it gets interesting! The champion will come from the “Oberto then Qatar” group! Posted on: Jul 12 2010 12:35 AM UTC |

Craig, I think the winner will not come from the Oberto, Qatar group, as I think the Oberto will have a better weekend points wise than they did in Madison in their near future. You guys that already picked the 1 and the 96 are in trouble! Posted on: Jul 12 2010 04:35 AM UTC |

Maybe Oberto will get more than 1525 somewhere, but then you’d be giving up those points from Madison. Graham scored well in Madison and that may be the peak for that boat, so that may turn out to be a good play. Posted on: Jul 12 2010 09:47 PM UTC |

Looks like the 37 in week one may be key as that boat scored second highest (7 lost points for Qual) and will not likely score that well again should they continue with a back-up boat and driver. Posted on: Jul 16 2010 04:13 PM UTC |
