The wait is finally over—the 122nd running of the APBA Gold Cup is set to return to the historic Ohio River course in Madison, Indiana. As the most prestigious trophy in Unlimited Hydroplane racing, look for all the H1 competitors to let it all hang put for Gold Cup glory!
Quality Field:
The 2026 fleet is ready to battle for the oldest trophy in motorsports as all seven competitors have tested in the pre-season. Expect an intense showdown from the teams vying for the sport’s ultimate prize, including the U-1 BWR Racing, U-00 Maverick, U-3 Tahoe Miss, U-6 Royer Miss Madison, U 11 FlavRPak, U-27 Apollo, and U40 Bucket List Racing. With the Madison Regatta’s notorious river conditions, teams will need a perfect balance of top-end speed, handling, and luck to survive the weekend.
New Starting Format:
The 2026 H1 season also ushers in a new starting procedure in which lanes will babe selected based on weekend point totals. With the elimination heats selected inverse of weekend high points. This new format will likely equalize weekend points and make points are harder to come by for even the fastest boast in the field. As always there is an extra set of heats for the Gold Cup competition so more points will be at stake than any other race of the season.

Don’t DNS, make sure your two picks are finalized and submitted before the pick deadline on July 4th at 11 am Madison time.
