Kip Brown, driver of the U-17 Miss Red Dot, answered a few questions from Deck2Deck as he and the Our Gang Racing crew prepared for the 2011 season. **************** Tell us about any off season upgrades or maintenance that will improve the performance of the 17. We have refined underwater gear and corrected an aerodynamic problem with the right bull nose. We have also added depth in equipment. What race course do you think is best suited to your driving abilities? Tri-Cities is maybe the most driver-friendly course, as the straights follow the beach and it is symmetrical. What course to your knowledge is best suited for your hull and equipment? I would say Seattle. We run well there. What race is most significant for you to win, and why? Most would say the Gold Cup, but I grew up at Seafair. That would be the biggest for me. A home town win. Then the Gold Cup. I could ride off into the sunset after that. Who do you think benefits the most from the race for lanes and the new Jeff Bernard and I, because we are good at it and practice all the time in inboard racing. As a follow up, who stands out in your mind as a great dicer for lanes Jeff is great at it. Jean Theoret is also very good. Thanks Kip! Go get ’em!
